BRIAN'S STORY

Let us introduce you to one of these kids, Brian…
Luma received a call from an anxious mom, Yvette, desperate to help her son Brian. She knew Young Life because her sisters had gone to YLOne at the Monarch School for students experiencing homelessness. As the oldest of seven, raised by a single mom, Yvette had seen her family cycle through homelessness, addiction, and trauma. She became a mom herself in high school, carrying baby Brian with her to class. More than anything, she longed for a different story — a generational change — for her son.
We invited Brian to our WyldLife middle school Bible study. He kept coming week after week, and his leaders soon invited him to church. Yvette did everything she could to keep him involved — dropping him off multiple times a week and waiting in the car. Until one Sunday, Luma saw her sitting outside, knocked on her window, and invited her inside.
Yvette wanted Brian to know Jesus — but Jesus was relentlessly pursuing her, too. After summer camp, Brian gave his life to Christ. Not long after, Yvette did the same at church. Life still had challenges. Middle school brought new temptations — vaping, the wrong crowd, and conflict at home. But Brian’s YL leaders never stopped showing up. Yvette never stopped asking for prayer. And again and again, Jesus reminded them both of His faithfulness — HIS RELENTLESS PURSUIT.
Generations to come will be transformed because of Jesus’ relentless pursuit of Brian and Yvette. His relentless pursuit of middle school kids, high school students, kids experiencing homelessness, and teenage parents is evident... Brian and Yvette are just getting started.
